Cardio-Metabolic Health
Cardio-Metabolic Health visits are for patients who want a clearer picture of the health factors that influence blood sugar, insulin resistance, cholesterol, blood pressure, inflammation, medications, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and long-term cardiovascular risk.
At Tandem Clinic, this visit is a focused naturopathic assessment. Your naturopathic doctor will review your health history, relevant lab work, current medications and supplements, and the day-to-day factors that may be affecting your metabolic health. From there, you will work together on a practical care plan that fits your health picture.

What To Expect
Ready for a more comprehensive look at your metabolic health?
Book a focused visit to review the bigger picture and plan your next steps.
-
A discovery call is a short introductory call to discuss whether this visit type is a good fit and how to prepare for your initial visit if that’s the right next step.
-
Your first visit starts with a review of your health history, goals, current symptoms or concerns, medications, supplements, family history, and relevant lab work. If you have recent blood work, home blood pressure readings, glucose data, or other health records, bring them to your appointment.
-
Your naturopathic doctor will look at the patterns that may be contributing to your current health picture. This may include blood sugar regulation, insulin resistance, cholesterol and triglycerides, blood pressure, inflammation markers, metabolic liver health, sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, and medication considerations.
-
You will leave with a care plan that may include nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, lab or monitoring suggestions, supplement or medication review, follow-up timing, and next steps for care. Where clinically appropriate, your visit may also include discussion of whether GLP-1 medication or other prescription options should be considered as one part of a broader plan.
-
Follow-up visits are used to review progress, update the plan, discuss labs or monitoring results, and adjust care as needed. For patients taking GLP-1 or other metabolic medications, follow-up may include support with side effects, nutrition, protein intake, hydration, constipation or reflux concerns, strength training, and longer-term maintenance planning.

GLP-1 And Medication Questions
Many patients have questions about GLP-1 medications and metabolic health. These medications may be useful for some patients, but they are not the right fit for everyone and they work best when considered within the full context of health history, labs, nutrition, movement, medication safety, side effects, and long-term planning.
A Cardio-Metabolic Health visit can help you review whether medication questions should be part of your care plan. Booking this visit does not guarantee a prescription. The goal is to make a clinically appropriate plan based on your individual health picture.

Ready To Review The Bigger Picture?
Get a clearer view of your metabolic health
Cardio-metabolic health is not one number or one medication. It is the bigger picture of how your blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, hormones, medications, nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and family history fit together.
If you are ready to review that bigger picture, book a Cardio-Metabolic Health visit with a Tandem naturopathic doctor.
